Conquer Your Everest!

MORE NETWORKING

Networking with other local professionals is one of the best ways to increase exposure and revenue and become involved in the community. As a Corporate Trainer, Executive Coach and Psychotherapist, I specialize in communication and relationship building skills in work and family life. Following, are some Networking Tips that have helped other professionals increase their business.

Plan on arriving on time, professionally attired, with business cards and marketing materials at your fingertips. Walk up to individuals who are alone and introduce yourself. Overcome shyness or the “jitters” by concentrating on making the other person at ease. Wear your name-tag on the right side so it is easily readable as you shake hands. Repeat the person’s name 2-3 times during your conversation. This makes them feel listened to and helps you remember their name.

To make any networking experience worthwhile it is important to arrive with an attitude of giving and receiving information, encouragement and leads. Referrals usually do not happen on a one- time- only attendance. Building mutually rewarding relationships takes time. Get involved with the group, join a committee, volunteer for community service. Plan on building other’s business as well as your own and your business will grow as a result.
